Grade Level Expectations

In sixth grade, students are expected to learn to write clear, coherent, and focused descriptive essays with at least 500 to 700 words in each genre. In Mathematics, they learn to compare and order positive and negative fractions, decimals, and mixed numbers. Among other concepts taught, students also deepen their understanding of the measurement of plane and solid shapes and use this understanding to solve problems.
