Principal's Message
66th Street STEAM Academy Family,
Let me be the first to welcome you to 66th Street STEAMAcademy! As I begin my first school year as Principal, I am energized and deeply committed to making a positive difference in the lives of your children. I am very proud of our dedicated staff and enthusiastic learners, and I’m pleased that you have chosen our school for your child’s education.
We will be setting high academic expectations for all children and providing supportive systems to assure they are met. By focusing on a positive school culture, setting high expectations for administrators, teacher, students, and engaging the community, it is our vision at 66th Street STEAM Academy that all students will be on track to be college and career ready.
As demands of teaching children increase, it becomes more evident that we all need to work together to ensure that our children reach their fullest potential. I believe that all of us- the school and the community- must work together as an extended family to ensure success for all our students. It’s our responsibility to empower children with the creative, intellectual, and decision-making skills necessary for them to become academically, socially, physically, and emotionally successful.
One of our most important responsibilities to you is that we keep you informed of all that is taking place at the school. One of the ways we do this is regularly updating our school website. You can find up-to-date events, classroom photographs, and additional information, so I encourage you to visit it as often as possible. Another critical communication tool that we use to keep parents informed is class DOJO, which your child’s teacher will set up the first week of school. This is a quick and effective tool to help keep the doors of communication open between home and school. In addition to the website and class DOJO I want you to know that you are welcome to call me if you have any questions or concerns.
Along with the teachers and staff, I will work hard to continue the legacy of success established by building strong relationships with parents, students and community partners. We will focus on social emotional learning, standards-based instruction, the use of data to drive instruction, and to provide consistent implementation of the curriculum in a rigorous manner so that we can continue to increase all of the students' academic achievement.
I welcome your involvement and participation in our great school and look forward to having a long and rewarding relationship with you and your family as we strive toward an academically successful 2020-2021 school year.

Como directora, estoy llena de energía y profundamente comprometida a hacer una diferencia positiva en la vida de los estudiantes. Estoy muy orgullosa de nuestro personal dedicado y estudiantes entusiastas, y me complace que haya elegido nuestra escuela para la educación de su hijo/a.
Estableceremos altas expectativas académicas para todos los niños y proporcionaremos sistemas de apoyo para asegurar que se cumplan. Al enfocarnos en una cultura escolar positiva, establecer altas expectativas para los administradores, maestros, estudiantes e involucrar a la comunidad, nuestra visión de 66th Street STEAM Academy es que todos los estudiantes estén preparados para la universidad y una carrera.
A medida que aumentan las demandas de enseñar a los niños, se hace más evidente que todos debemos trabajar juntos para asegurar que nuestros niños alcancen su máximo potencial. Una de las formas en que lo hacemos es actualizar periódicamente el sitio web de nuestra escuela. Puede encontrar eventos actualizados, fotografías del aula e información adicional, por lo que le animo a que lo visite con la mayor frecuencia posible. Otra herramienta de comunicación fundamental que utilizamos para mantener informados a los padres es Class DOJO, que el maestro de su hijo establecio la primera semana de clases. Esta es una herramienta rápida y eficaz para ayudar a mantener abiertas las puertas de comunicación entre el hogar y la escuela.
