Gifted/Talented Programs (GATE)

Gifted/Talented Programs creates high end learning opportunities which allow students to flourish in stimulating academic and social environments. Instructional programs for gifted and talented students are based on the principles that all students are to receive an education appropriate to their individual capabilities, interests, and needs, and that students have learning opportunities that help develop their abilities to the highest level.

66th Street School has two GATE Coordinators, Brenda Littrel and Maureen Catapia, who oversee the school's GATE program.  They, along with the teachers of gifted students at 66th Street are dedicated workers whose focus is to ensure that students are offered academic opportunities that develop  thinking and problem solving skills that will better prepare students for personal and academic success in the 21st century.
